This is classic early-mid-seventies style! This straight shape - with a shirt collar, short sleeves, and slit neck - was made up in everything from cotton to crimplene and wool, and worn as is, or over polo necks, usually unbelted.
Comfortable and easy to wear, it was part of the backlash against the more fitted and structured styles of earlier years; it was also flattering, as it emphasises the curves - all the shape in the dress is the wearers own!
This one has been hand made, certainly with care, and probably professionally. The fabric is a crisp, bright cotton, the hem has been bound and it is well finished; it fastens with a long, metal zip, with two hooks and eyes at the back of the collar.
Condition, as far as I can see, is perfect, indeed, unworn. Designed to be worn loose, approximate measurements are: length from back of neck (base of collar, 41 ½ inches (105 cms); bust, 40 inches (101.5 cms); hips, 43 inches (109 cms).
