Amazing 1940s vintage cocoa lace dress by Blanes of London. Please

Blanes of London was one of Princess Mimi's absolutely favourite designers: the dresses are quirky, well made and highly flattering, Take a closer look at this little number and you'll see for yourself!
It's a typical late 40s/early 50s cocktail frock in cocoa-coloured lace, fully lined, with a wide neckline and little sleeves. The colour, although neutral, is warm and will flatter most skin tones. There is a deep vee at the back, and a false hem, which gives lovely swishy movement when you walk (and yes, these pictures were taken on a very windy day!)
It's about a modern size 14, so our size 10 model can't really do it justice - it's a dress to show off those womanly curves!
It's not perfect, unfortunately: there are one or two places where the delicate lace has
perished (I've literally found two, both on the front). These honestly don't show in wear - I had trouble finding them again to photograph. Other than this, I would say it's survived extremely well.
Be one of a kind - this dress deserves to be worn! Approximate neasurements, taken from outside the garment, are bust 40 ins/10.5 cms; waist 30 ins/76 cms; hips 45 ins/114 cms The label states 'size 18'; in modern terms, best fit will be a curvy UK size 14-16.
