Qiana was the name of a fabric invented by DuPont in 1968, which was considered to be as close to silk a the real thing. The fabric was considered to be so special that it gave its name to a range of clothing as well - of which this gorgeous long tunic top is a prime example!
Not for the faint hearted! This funky top has an all-over flower print in shades of purple, hot pink, and burnt orange on a black and white ground. It has a high, polo-style neck, and short sleeves.
It dates from the late sixties or early seventies, and is made from Polyamid, one of DuPont's fabrics, which has a slight sheen and a silky feel. It is sized as a 40, which is equivalent to a UK 12, but see the measurements given below.
It fastens with a short zip at the neck, and seems to be in perfect condition. It's designed to be close fitting, and there is a little stretch to the fabric: approximate meausrements are, under the arms 38 ins (96.5 cms), length from back of neck 29 ins (73.5 cms).
