After the war, plastic really came into its own: this is a delightful little bag, of a type to become more common in the following decade. It is made from stiff white plastic with an all over swirly pattern reminiscent of brush strokes, and stitching detail. It has two handles, and fastens with the original zipper.

In excellent condition, and beautifully clean inside and out, unlike many vintage bags it is of a size to be really useful to any twenty-first century fashionista - perfect with those summer outfits!

The inside boasts neither label, lining or pockets, simply smooth white plastic which shows the internal stitching and handle bases. There are several marks from earlier use, but these are old and, as I say, clean: they will not mark anything put into it. There are also a couple of faint marks on the underside of the handles: none of these are apparent unless you are looking for faults.

Measurements are 11 ins (28 cms) by 6 ins (16.5 cms) to the zip, with a 3-inch (8 cms)wide base. Handles are 12 ins (30.5 cms) long.

Princess Mimi believes that you can only feel confident about buying lovely things on the internet if you can have a really good look at them.
